The Interim Provisions on Strengthening Cooperation in Combating Copyright Infringement and Crimes were promulgated in 2006 and entered into force on 26 Mar. 2006.

There are 19 articles in total, which aim to clarify the cooperation between the public security organs and the copyright administrative departments on copyright infringement and crimes.

The key points are as follows:

1.The copyright administrative department shall promptly inform the public security organ at the corresponding level in case of any clue of copyright crimes during law enforcement. If the public security organ considers that there is corpus delicti and the criminal responsibility should be investigated, it shall register the case.

2.The public security organ shall promptly inform the copyright administrative department at the corresponding level in case of any clue of copyright infringement. If the copyright administrative department considers that there is a violation of administrative regulation such as copyright infringement, it shall register the case.
