Implementation Rules for the Administration of the Licensing for Internet-based News Information Services entered into force on 1 June 2017.

There are 18 articles in total. The Rules aim to make more specific regulations on the Administrative Regulations on Internet-based News Information Services. Key points of the Rules are as follows:

  1. Whoever intends to provide the public with Internet-based news information services via Internet websites, applications, forums, blogs, micro-blogs, official accounts, instant messaging tools, network-based live streaming and other forms shall obtain an Internet-based News Information Service License; and

  2. The procedures that an enterprise should follow in applying for an Internet-based News Information Service License.
