The National Anthem Law was promulgated in 2017 and entered into force on October 1, 2017.

The key points are as follows:

1.The “March of the Volunteers” is the national anthem of the People’s Republic of China.

2.All citizens and organizations shall respect the national anthem and maintain the dignity of the national anthem.

3.The national anthem shall not be used in any trademark or commercial advertisement directly or in any disguised form, or at any private funeral and other inappropriate occasions, or as background music in any public place, among others.
