Guiding Opinions on Promoting the Sound Development of Internet Finance entered into force on 18 July 2015.

There are 3 parts and 18 articles in total. The Opinions aim to regulate Internet finance and promote its development. Key points of the opinions are as follows:

  1. Actively promote the innovation of Internet financial platforms, products and services.
  2. Each regulatory authority regulates Internet payment, Internet lending, equity crowdfunding, Internet fund sales, Internet insurance, Internet trust, and Internet consumer finance within their respective terms of reference.
  3. Practitioners should be subject to supervision in aspects such as customer fund management, information disclosure, consumer rights protection, network security, and anti-money laundering.
