The Interim Provisions on the Remuneration Standard for Statutory License of Sound Recording were promulgated in 1993 and entered into force on 1 Aug. 1993.

The key points are as follows: according to the Copyright Law, a sound recording producer may use the musical works which have been legally recorded as a sound recording by others to make a sound recording product without the permission of the copyright owner, but shall pay remuneration to the copyright owner according to the agreement. The Provision specifies the calculation method of remuneration.
