The Interim Measures for Rewards for Reporting and Investigating Infringement and Piracy were promulgated in 2007 and entered into force on 20 Sept. 2007.

There are 16 articles in total, which aim to encourage the reporting and investigation of infringement and piracy.

The key points are as follows: 1.The National Copyright Administration has set up an Anti-Piracy Reporting Center (hereinafter “the Reporting Center”), which is responsible for rewarding units and individuals for reporting major infringement and piracy acts.

2.The Reporting Center determines the amount of reward to the informer according to the reporting type based on the influence of reported infringement and piracy cases or the amount of illegal property seized. The amount of reward for each case shall not exceed CNY 100,000. The amount of reward may not be subject to this limit if the case is of a serious nature, has a nationwide influence, or involves a huge claim.
