The Administrative Regulations on Financial Information Services entered into force on 1 Feb. 2019.

There are 17 articles in total, which aim to regulate financial information services. The key points are as follows:

  1. Financial information services refer to the services that provide information and/or financial data that may affect the financial market to users engaged in financial analysis, financial transactions, financial decision-making, or other financial activities.
  2. The Cyberspace Administration of China and its local government counterparts are the regulatory authorities in this field.
  3. The financial information service provider shall obtain the corresponding qualification before engaging in the Internet-based news and information services, and shall ensure the authenticity, objectivity and legality of the financial information.
