The Information Security Technology — Guide for De-identifying Personal Information (GB/T 37964-2019) entered into force on 1 Mar. 2020.

This Guide provides specific personal information de-identification guidance for microdata, and is applicable to operators’ personal information de-identification, as well as applicable to the supervision and evaluation on personal information de-identification by regulators and third-party appraisal agencies.

This Guide is not a compulsory regulation, but more of a recommended standard the government encourages enterprises to adopt voluntarily.
