The Administrative Measures on the Internet-based Drug Information Services were promulgated on 8 July 2004 and amended in 2017. The latest version entered into force on 7 Nov. 2017.

There are 29 articles in total, which aim to supervise the Internet-based drug (including medical devices) information services to Internet users in China. The key points are as follows:

  1. The National Medical Products Administration and its local counterparts are the regulatory authorities in this field.
  2. To provide Internet-based drug information services on the website, the service provider shall obtain the qualification certificate of Internet-based drug information services issued by the regulatory authority.
