The Regulations on the Procedures for Formulating the Trading Rules of the Online Retail Third-party Platform (Trial Implementation) entered into force on 1 Apr. 2015.

There are 23 articles in total, which aim to supervise the operators of third-party online retail platforms in China in formulating, modifying and implementing transaction rules. The key points are as follows:

  1. The Ministry of Commerce shall establish a filing system for third-party online retail platform transaction rules, and its counterparts at the provincial level shall be responsible for the daily management of rules filing.
  2. The transaction rules formulated, modified, and implemented by the operators of third-party online retail platforms shall be publicized in and filed with the aforesaid system.
