Vocational Education Law (2022)

Vocational Education Law was promulgated in 1996, amended in 2022. The latest revision entered into force on 1 May. 2022.

The Law consists of 69 articles, aiming to promote the development of vocational education.

The key points are as follows:

1.Can private enterprises start vocational schools?

Yes.

The State shall encourage and financially support the establishment of vocational schools and vocational training institutions by private sectors. (Art. 26, Art. 54)

Foreign organizations and individuals can also start vocational schools in China. (Art. 68)

2.Will vocational education be discriminated against?

No.

Students receiving vocational education shall enjoy equal opportunities for further education and employment as those receiving general education at the same level. (Art. 53)
